Communication to raise public awareness about the rights of people with disabilities and improve community integration

In response to the Celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities, IDEA organization and the People's Committee of Soc Son District co-organized the activity "Communication to raise public awareness about the rights of people with disabilities and improve community integration” funded by ActionAid Vietnam in Soc Son district. The activity involving the participation of people with disabilities (PWD), social organizations, community organizations, and socio-political organizations included: Competition for understanding laws about people with disabilities, art performances, plays, skits and so on, which aimed at propagandizing and raising people’s awareness about the rights of PWDs, reducing discrimination against PWDs, and encouraging those’s engagements in social activities in the local community. Last but not least, this meaningful activity was intended for calling upon local authorities and policymakers at all levels to actively advocate people with disabilities, guaranteeing their rights to be achieved.

Hưởng ứng Lễ kỷ niệm ngày Quốc tế Người khuyết tật, tổ chức IDEA và UBND Huyện Sóc Sơn phối hợp tổ chức hoạt động “Truyền thông nâng cao nhận thức của cộng đồng về Quyền của người khuyết tật và phát triển hòa nhập tại cộng đồng” tại huyện Sóc Sơn do tổ chức ActionAid Việt Nam tài trợ. Hoạt động có sự tham gia của người khuyết tật (NKT), các tổ chức xã hội, các tổ chức cộng đồng và tổ chức chính trị xã hội bao gồm: Thi tìm hiểu luật NKT, biểu diễn văn nghệ, đóng kịch, tiểu phẩm… nhằm tuyên truyền vận động nâng cao nhận thức về quyền của người khuyết tật, giảm sự kỳ thị đối với người khuyết tật và thúc đẩy sự tham gia của họ trong các hoạt động xã hội tại cộng đồng. Kêu gọi chính quyền địa phương và các nhà hoạch định chính sách tại các cấp hỗ trợ tích cực NKT để bảo đảm việc thực hiện quyền của NKT được hiệu quả tại địa phương.
